About Northport Veterans Affairs Medical Center

The Northport Veterans Affairs Medical Center is dedicated to providing exception care to America's veterans with the goal of improving their health and well-being.  The vision of this medical facility is to be a patient-centered, integral health care delivery organization for veterans providing excellent care, research and education.  The leadership strives to ensure the Northport VA Medical Center is an organization where people choose to work and while also being an active community partner.  In addition to the main facility, there are numerous outpatient clinics on Long Island.  Most recently, a carved glass tribute to veterans was unveiled in the lobby to commemorate America's veterans.  The village of Northport instantly provides a familiar feel to all who visit.  This north shore community is superbly maintained and features homes of primarily Victorian and colonial styles.  The current mayor is also the proprietor of the local candy store further adding to the quaint feel of this harbor community.   Main Street features shops, restaurants and antique stores and easy access to the harbor front.  Northport harbor, which leads to Long Island Sound, features a band shell and frequent musical events and festivities.  Northport's population of 21,000 is family friendly with nearly 40% of the households having one or more children.  Public transportation provides easy access to mid-town Manhattan.
