Warm in the summer and mild in the winter, the area offers a plethora of outdoor activities. Charlottesville boasts an impressive school system; Albemarle County Public Schools (ACPS) serve more than 13,200 students in grades pre-K through 12 in Albemarle County, Virginia. ACPS offers community-based elementary schools, state-of-the-art secondary schools, two charter schools, a STEM magnet school operating at Albemarle High School, and the Charlottesville Albemarle Technical Education Center (CATEC).
