About McEntire Joint National Guard Base

McEntire Joint National Guard Base or McEntire JNGB is a military airport located in Richland County ten miles west of Eastover and approximately 15 miles southeast of the City of Columbia. It is owned by the U.S. Air Force and is affiliated with the South Carolina Air National Guard or SCANG. Approximately 1,200 members train at McEntire joint National Guard Base. About 900 of those assigned to SCANG are traditional guard men and women who work in the community and train part time with the Air National Guard. About 300 federal employees serve as full time technicians and drill with their respective Air Guard units.

Because of the close proximity, you will find that most of the families live in the Columbia area. Southeast Columbia as well as Northeast Columbia are close locations and offer both new home communities as we as established communities. Award winning Richland One School District and Richland Two School District are located in these areas.
