About MCAS Miramar

The Marine Corp Air Station at Miramar is home to the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing of the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force. Once used by the Navy and Marine Corps for advanced pilot training during WWII, it is now home base to over 12,000 Marines, Sailors and civilians. "Fightertown USA," as it is popularly known, MCAS Miramar is also home to F-14 squadrons and Topgun. Located 16 miles north of Downtown San Diego, MCAS Miramar is a quick 20 minute ride to San Diego Lindbergh Field, NAS Coronado and 32nd Street Naval Base.
