About Armed Forces Reserve Center Farmingdale

The Armed Forces Reserve Center combines the National Guard, Army Reserve, Naval Reserve and Marine Corps Reserve in one location.  This four story facility with nearly 225,000 square feet of space houses 1,000 troops as well as the required administration and support elements for each branch.  Additional features include classrooms, conference rooms and maintenance facilities for military equipment.  The center's ideal location in the center of Long Island was developed for the convenience of the reservists and also gives the National Guard an advantage to local response.  This new multi-purpose facility provides cost savings for the Department of Defense while also offering modernized training for the troops and reservists.  Farmingdale is centrally located on Long Island and straddles both Nassau and Suffolk Counties.  The ethnic culture of this village has resulted in a wonderful variety of restaurants and entertainment.  Village Green is a green space located within Farmingdale which is home to a park like area with frequent outdoor events.  Bethpage State Park, home of the famous golf course is only five minutes away from Farmingdale.  Farmingdale's population hovers around 33,000 and with over 1/3 of the households having one or more children.  The Long Island rail has a station in Farmingdale, making commuter transportation to New York City is and affordable.
