About Abilene, TX

Situated 180 miles directly west of Dallas/Fort Worth, Abilene is located in the very center of the state. The current population is around 120,000 residents. Given the location of the town, it's a center for transportation, shopping and entertainment.
 
There's plenty to do in Abilene; check out the contemporary art center or the galleries and studios within town. Visit the town's zoo or plan some fun at the Primetime Entertainment Center. There are plenty of parks (26 to be exact) and trails to stay active about town. There are four golf courses and a robust tennis community.
